John R. Rogers High School Alumni Scholarship

The John R. Rogers High School Alumni Association offers five $1,000 scholarships to support students in continuing their education and achieving their career goals. This scholarship is intended for students who demonstrate academic excellence (minimum 3.0 GPA), leadership skills, school involvement, and community service.

Eligibility & Application Process:

• Applicants must be graduating seniors from John R. Rogers High School.

• Funds must be used for education at a community college, junior college, vocational school, or university in the fall following graduation.

• The selection decision is final and will be kept confidential.

• Recipients will be awarded at a ceremony in May, and scholarship funds will be sent directly to the student’s college upon proof of acceptance.

Required Application Materials:

1. Cover Letter – A formal letter introducing the applicant, outlining academic achievements, community involvement, and career aspirations.

2. GPA & High School Transcripts – Proof of meeting the academic requirement.

3. Two Letters of Recommendation:

          • One from a school faculty member.

          • One from a community member (e.g., employer, clergy, or neighbor).

4. Activity List – Detailing involvement in school and community activities.

5. Educational and Career Goals Statement – The school the applicant plans to attend, anticipated major, and reasons for career choice.

6. Volunteer Experience & Leadership Statement – Description of the most meaningful volunteer activity and leadership contributions.

7. Financial Need Statement – Explanation of financial circumstances and any additional relevant information.

Application Deadline: By 3:00 PM on the last Friday of March, submitted to Career Center Counselor. This scholarship aims to recognize students who have excelled academically, shown leadership, and actively contributed to their school and community.
